About Triple Zero Victoria

 

Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

The System Engineer is a key and active participant of the Emergency Communication Information Services (ECIS) team. 

 

The role will help build, maintain, and troubleshoot our expanding infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.  


 

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

 

 

 

  • ​​​​Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure whilst effectively maintain a highly available environment and register/remediate any security risks.
  • Manage and deliver scheduled systems maintenance and updates.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention
  •  Maintenance of virtual and physical servers hosted in multiple data centres and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safely
  •  Install, configure, and test operating system, application software and system management tool
  •  Participate and drive in the delivery and maintenance of change into the ESTA IT infrastructure, network and systems environments, both on-premise and cloud.
  •  Create systems documentation to support change and knowledge transfer.
  • Contribute to delivery of projects and initiatives including, but not limited to, security improvements, platform uplift, cloud adoption, and automatio

 

About You

The preferred candidate  will have experience supporting 24/7 mission critical envionments within a large organisation and will also possess the following attributes and skills:

 

 

  • ​​​​​  Experience in an ITIL environment & working knowledge of ITIL Incident management, Request Fulfilment, Change and Asset Management
  •   Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery
  •   Demonstrated ability and understanding in continuous improvement and delivery implementation
  •   Microsoft Certificated Solutions Associate (MCSA) (or equivalent experience)
  •   VMware Certification (VCP) (or equivalent experience)
  •   Experience with Azure well architected best practice
  •   Experience with Infrastructure as code (IaC) and infrastructure operations automation
