Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Acknowledgement

Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land and waterways on which we live and work. We honour and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their unique ability to care for Country. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples represent the world’s oldest living culture. We celebrate and respect the knowledge and wisdom that has ensured the continuation of culture and traditional practices.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At Triple Zero Victoria, we are continuing to focus on building an inclusive culture as a priority that will drive and contribute to our long-term sustainability and success. We recognise that valuing everyone’s contribution and talents will help us improve our employee engagement, job satisfaction, innovation, and delivery of our services to the community.

Our people are deeply committed to the communities they serve and are among the most dedicated and highly skilled in their field. We are connected by purpose and proud of what we do. Diversity, inclusion and equity supports our organisation’s commitment to promote full participation in our communities and foster and promote a high performing public service.

Triple Zero Victoria strives to provide an inclusive workplace, where all team members, feel that they are;

  • Respected for who they are and able to be themselves,
  • Connected to their colleagues and feel that they belong,
  • Can contribute their perspectives and talents to the workplace, and
  • Can participate in all aspects of work life to achieve their full potential.

TZV Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Plan 2024-2027

The DEI Plan provides us with an opportunity to shine a light on the value of everyone’s contribution to the work of Triple Zero Victoria and support leaders to help their teams to feel satisfied, motivated and committed because they have a strong sense of belonging. We have integrated DEI principles that build on the People & Culture Framework’s three pillars, providing a renewed focus on the workforce experience to support the 'moments that matter' and to take action that leads to the creation of a strong sense of belonging through inclusion:

  • Workforce Design – equitable systems and structures
  • Workforce Capability – access to learning opportunities
  • Workforce Experience – connection through inclusion

TZV Disability Action Plan 2024-2026

Our Disability Action Plan Plan sets out goals and actions over the next two years to deliver on the following priority areas:

  • Partnership and Design - partnering to co-design inclusive employment environments and service delivery
  • Accessibility and Participation - building inclusive physical and digital environments
  • Respect and Dignity - creating a safe and discrimination-free work and service culture
  • Disability Confident Leadership - championing leadership inclusion through commitment
  • Measurement and Accountability - use an evidence-based approach to inform best practice

TZV Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan

Triple Zero Victoria is pleased to work with Reconciliation Australia to develop our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Having a RAP formalises our commitment to voice, recognition, truth telling and inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in all we do.

TZV Pride Network

The TZV Pride Network is a peer-led network created to connect and support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, and queer and questioning (LGBTIQ+) employees and their allies across Triple Zero Victoria.

It is voluntary and employee-led.

TZV’s Pride Network provides an environment where team members can connect across our organisation, fostering a sense of unity and belonging.

TZV Enablers Network

TZV's Enablers Network represents the needs, interests, and concerns of TZV employees with lived experience of disability. It provide members with professional networking opportunities and social events and activities and contribute to awareness raising and TZV being a disability confident organisation.

Smoking Ceremony and Flag Raising at Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country

The 3 December 2024 was an important milestone for TZV.  As we begin our journey towards reconciliation, we gathered at our Burwood East State Emergency Communications Centre (SECC) for a smoking ceremony and flag raising event to mark the beginning of Triple Zero’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Following the smoking ceremony and flag raising, the local Mullum Mullum Aboriginal Community met with our TZV leaders and our Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group for the first time for a yarn and a tour of the Burwood East SECC.
