Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role
The Strategic Advisor, Ministerial and Executive Services is a key member of the Office of the CEO team who provides support and strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Deputy Corporate Services and the Executive Leadership Team on significant and complex policy, issues, and parliamentary and public sector inquiries.
The role is required to effectively liaise with and promote relationship building with a broad range of external stakeholders and government representatives, with a focus on supporting the organisation’s success and reputation in the public sector and broader government environment.
As TZV’s Corporate Secretary, this role also provides critical governance and administrative functions to TZV’s Board and committees and is responsible for ensuring that relevant information flows to and from the Board.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Provide advice on complex government, public sector, and emergency services sector policies, and provide guidance and support to ensure that TZV complies with and effectively implements statutory obligations and Government decisions.
- Support and advise senior executives representing TZV on high-level national and state inter-agency committees, intergovernmental working groups, multi-disciplinary teams, and special task forces.
- Monitor and identify major emerging policy issues, government matters and key strategic policy and planning projects and programs, and provide regular analysis and intelligence reports on key issues of relevance to the CEO, COO, DCS or ELT.
- Develop, manage, and maintain effective working relationships with high-level stakeholders within Victoria’s Emergency Management sector.
- Act as the critical link between the Office of the CEO and the Board and Committee, ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance arrangements for Board and Committee members, and manage the end-to-end submission process for Board sub-committee and assigned TZV meetings, in line with TZV’s guidelines.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in a business or corporate management role, strong relationship management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders within a complex emergency management environment.
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria’s emergency management arrangements.
- Experience in analysing and advising on complex and sensitive government or public sector matters.
- A deep understanding of the dynamics and working relationships that must be maintained between portfolio agencies, central agencies, government, and other sector bodies.
- Experience working with the complexities of program and project management delivery and inter-governmental projects.
- A high degree of proficiency in written and verbal communication skills, particularly in brief writing, reporting requirements and facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholder groups.
