Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role
The Statistician and AI Developer plays a crucial and active role within TZV. The primary objective of this role is to leverage expertise in statistics and artificial intelligence to develop innovative solutions that drive TZV business objectives. The role will leverage your expertise in the analysis of complex data sets, build predictive models, and implement AI algorithms that enhance our products and services.
Reporting into the Manager, Business Intelligence duties include:
- Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
- Model Development: Design, develop, and validate statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
- AI Implementation: Implement AI solutions, including natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics, to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Collaboration: Work with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to integrate AI models into production systems.
- Reporting: Communicate findings and insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations to stakeholders.
About You
The preferred candidate will excellently verbal and written communication skills, have proven experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI development and have the below skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience in design, development, and validation of development of statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
- Well skilled in the implementation of AI solutions, including natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle or a similar relational database environment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A Bachelor degree or master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
