Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

 

The Senior Solution Architect is a key and active participant within the Emergency Communications Information Services (ECIS) team.

 

The role will lead a small team of Solution Architects, providing them with technical vison in the design and development of applications, platform and infrastructure.

 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership to the Solution Architecture function, ensuring that all architecture and design artefacts are fit-for-purpose, optimal and that they address considerations relating to cyber security, resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead, develop and manage a contemporary Solution Architecture practice, include day-to-day management of a team of Solution Architects.
  • Lead the analysis of business, application, technology and infrastructure requirements with business stakeholders, technology SMEs and partners, to address identified business problems or technology needs, to elicit and document the current state architecture, to define the desired future state architecture, and to identify any significant transition architectures.
  • Lead meetings and workshops with business and technical stakeholders to address complex technical problems, to identify and assess options, and to propose a recommended path forward.
  • Design, implement and manage a framework that ensures that Security by Design, Technology Resilience, Disaster Recovery planning, and Business Continuity considerations are incorporated for all new initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for, and lead the assessment of alternative application, technology and infrastructure options that promote innovation, resilience and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the TZV technology environment.

 

 

About You

 

An experienced IT professional, the ideal candidate will have a Tertiary education in IT or Engineering or a related discipline, along with specialized architecture and technology certifications

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

 

  • Extensive experience in all facets of Solution Architecture including presentation, business, persistence and database layers.
  • Considerable experience with technology infrastructure and applications architecture, and high availability systems resilience and disaster recovery architecture.
  • You will have lead the design, development and deployment of business software at scale.
  • Extensive experience in leading solution design and developing applications and Infrastructures solution architectures and detailed designs.
  • Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business functionality and translating them into application requirements and solution architecture designs.
