About the Role

 

The Senior Project Manager, Geospatial is an active participant within TZV’s Transformation Program, working in the Next Generation CAD Project (NGC).

 

The goal of the function is to manage one or multiple GIS projects as directed by the Director, Technical Delivery.  Specific accountabilities will include project planning, project delivery in accordance with the agreed scope, budget, timeframe and quality and project closure.  To achieve these deliverables, the Senior Project Manager will follow TZV Project Management Framework.

 

The Next Gen CAD program includes the provision of the delivery of an end-to-end GIS capability. This includes the Geospatial requirements, solution architecture, build activities, GIS data management, mapping services, geocoding services, and routing services.

 

Working closely with the Senior GIS Specialist, a GIS delivery vendor, and the existing GIS BAU team, specific responsibilities will include the establishment of a new highly resilient and highly available GIS solution and integration of the solution with the NGC CAD product. In addition, the position will be responsible for driving delivery via a GIS vendor. The Senior Project Manager, Geospatial will be responsible for the project management relating to the delivery of the requirements, architecture, the software configuration, presentation of mapping / geocoding / routing services, and transition to production. 

 

Finally, the role will include working with the existing Geospatial team in the business. As part of the Next Generation CAD Program, the role will require engagement with GIS vendors, the GIS team, a CAD System Integrator, and a CAD System Vendor.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

 

  • Deliver strategic vision, leadership and oversight of the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the geospatial capability across the TZV Transformation Program. 
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior managers and executive partners across the program, and the emergency services sector, as it relates to geospatial projects. 
  • Project manage the establishment of a geospatial platform to provide mapping, geocoding, and routing services to the Next Gen CAD system. 
  • Monitor, assess and report on the overall progress of the project, against cost, time and scope tolerances, quality, risk and benefits criteria. 
  • Establish and lead multi-disciplinary teams, and coordinate all resources to ensure all milestones and performance targets are met, whilst prioritising the welfare of direct reports, promoting a safe, inclusive and welfare centric workplace. 

 

 

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills, and attributes - 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management and/or Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2, PMBOK, or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in project management, in medium to large technology projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement, coordinate and deliver projects with multiple users, over multiple sites.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to negotiate, influence outcomes and obtain support.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee, direct and manage multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
