Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

 

 

The Senior Policy and Project Officer is responsible for providing high-quality authoritative advice and supporting policy development, project management and governance activities across the organisation.

Reporting in to the Senior Manager, Outcomes and Evaluation, this role is responsible for leading and supporting programs of work that enable the continuous improvement of our services, including lessons management, organisational performance standards, strategic outcomes and community sentiment. This role builds and maintains effective working relationships across the organisation and with external partners, facilitating information flow and influencing policy development where necessary.  

 

A key an active member of the Governance, Planning and Intelligence team, the Senior Policy and Project Officer contributes to strategic decision-making, provides policy and project management advice and support, including the preparation of high-quality reports, briefings and presentations, and effective engagement with our internal, emergency services and State Government stakeholders. 
The role will also support the development and implementation of identified project activities and reporting and participates in committees and initiatives as required.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Provide high quality authoritative advice, recommendations and innovative solutions to internal and external stakeholders on key activities and programs of work, ensuring consistency with organisational objectives and values.
  • Support delivery of programs of work including the development of policy, project management and governance materials, and prepare and present detailed reports and briefs
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Plan and support the facilitation of engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy and project outcomes
  • Prepare and present high-quality detailed reports and briefs for the Board and other executive as required.
  • Maintain an understanding of state legislative and policy reform directions to influence policy development.

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Policy officer with strong written and verbal communication skills. 

 

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and preparation of clear, concise and authoritative documents on complex policy issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working within tight timeframes with the ability to deliver several projects simultaneously
  • The ability to collaborate with respectful negotiation and empathy, with a focus on delivering positive outcomes
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare accurate and detailed documents, reports and correspondence for executives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and work with a wide range of stakeholders in a highly critical and complex work environment.
