About the Role

 

The Senior Manager, Program Manager is primarily responsible for leading the program management office team, providing project managers and other team members guidance and leadership, to ultimately support successful program delivery.

 

A key accountability of the role is developing and implementing program management frameworks and methodologies, whilst ensuring overall governance and accountability to track and report on project performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

 

The main purpose of the role is to provide the program management office leadership, direction, and coordination services across the projects to support successful program delivery in line with Triple Zero Victoria’s commitment to Government.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Provide people centric leadership to the team members across the PMO, ensuring project tasks are clear and realistic, workloads are manageable, welfare is prioritised and contributions are recognised

  • Develop and implement program management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices in line with organisational policies, whilst identifying major emerging policy issues and managing key strategic policy and planning for the projects within the program

  • Oversee the project portfolio and provide oversight of individual project activities, progress and managing interdependencies between projects within the program and those external to the program

  • Develop and manage an effective reporting cadence and documentation suite, further contributing to effective communications regarding program related activities to key stakeholders and governance forums; this includes internal and external media and community messaging

  • Cultivate and drive a continuous improvement philosophy to enhance initiatives within the PMO, enhancing program management capabilities.

 

 

About You

 

It is essential that you have proven program office management leadership experience, with a complete understanding the project life cycle, terminology and methodologies, gained from working in large-scale evolving and fast-paced environments in a government setting, with multi-agency interaction. 

 

You will be skilled in a relevant project management methodology qualification, further enhanced with postgraduate qualifications in information systems and/or business management. 

 

The ability to manage complex relationships is vital, as communication at all levels is required, with the requirement to have strong conflict management skills to influence and negotiate effectively. 

 

You will demonstrate a proactive approach to manage competing priorities and be well-organised to ensure you remain at the fore of program delivery.
