About the Role

 

The Senior Manager, Finance is a key and active participant of the Finance and Corporate Services (F&CS) department and a key role in the F&CS leadership team. 

 

The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership in the management of TZV’s accounting responsibilities and to manage a team that provides services and information in relation to financial accounting and reporting, asset accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, project accounting and PPP leases.

 

The Senior Manager, Finance is expected to develop and nurture excellent relationships across internal and external stakeholders, particularly staff in government departments and agencies. 

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

 

• Lead and manage the accounting, tax (FBT, BAS, PAYG), billing, payables, fixed asset, and corporate credit card functions. Accountable for ensuring effective financial controls are implemented over the finance functions (accounts payable, taxation, corporate credit card, accounts receivable, banking, fixed asset, and general ledger) so that decisions and practices align with TZV’s policies and procedures and Government legislative requirements. 
• Lead and manage the preparation of the month-end and year-end profit-and-loss, cash, balance sheet, change in equity statements and the annual financial report. Ability to initiate analysis and recommendations on business elements thereby providing proactive financial management advice and indicating opportunities for improvement, cost containment, or similar.
• Ensure the chart of accounts structure reflects TZV’s business model, oversee the maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers, maintain the account reconciliation schedule, and ensure reconciliations occur and are quality assured.
• Manage financial operations related external and internal audits, as scheduled, and create solutions and implement mitigations in response to any external or internal audit findings and/or recommendations endorsed by the Finance Audit and Risk Committee (FARM) and attend the ARMCC as required.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and ensure TZV adherence to finance related policies and procedures that comply with government, legislative and Australian Accounting Standard requirements. Be a catalyst in cross-TZV processes and make continuous improvements to financial operations related policies and procedures.
 
 

 

About You

 

As the Senior Manager, Finance, you will ideally have substantial experience in a similar role in a medium to large and complex organisation, as well as a tertiary qualification in accounting. 

 

• Extensive experience in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and government reporting directions and requirements
• Proven experience in problem solving in the context of complex accounting and financial compliance
• Extensive experience in developing systems, policies, and processes to deliver improved business performance, innovation, and compliance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven experience in working and communicating with multiple internal and external stakeholders such Executives and Senior Leaders, Internal/External auditors etc
• Strong people leadership skills, and proven experience and achievements through leading, building and managing a high-performing team of finance professionals. Ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
