Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

 

The Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations is a key role responsible for providing high-quality industrial and employee relations advice to both internal and external stakeholders across the organisation. 
 

Reporting into the Manager, Workplace Relations, this role will deliver employee and industrial relations support across all Triple Zero Victoria sites. 
 

Day to day responsibilities include:
 

  • Lead complex investigations, disciplinary issues and grievances, and oversee a variety of cases whilst coaching and supporting managers involved in the process.
  • Provide high quality industrial and employee relations advice and support to key internal and external stakeholders, and drive policy development and implementation in relation to IR/ER matters. 
  • Build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including union representatives, to support ongoing collaboration, consultation and change.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider People and Culture team, supporting change proposals and providing advice, coaching and support where necessary. 
  • Monitor, track and report on case trends, and contribute to the implementation of the Workplace Relations plan by providing support to stakeholders and leading initiatives. 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will be a client and resolutions-focused individual with a strong background in workplace and employee relations.
 

You will have a structured approach to case management and a working knowledge of relevant industrial, state and federal legislation, workplace policies, and experience in interpreting and applying these in the workplace.

 

You will also have: 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in workplace relations, employment law and/or law or relevant work experience

  • Proven experience in workplace/employee relations in a unionised environment and working knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks.

  • Demonstrated experience resolving workplace disputes with employees and unions, and experience leading complex investigations, disciplinary issues, grievances, and fitness-for-work processes. 

  • Ability to deal with conflict situations in a rational and constructive manner, to anticipate issues arising from proposed organisational and operational changes, and to develop creative and appropriate solutions.  

  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills
