About the Role

The Senior Advisor, Employee Relations (ER) is a member of the Workplace Relations team within the People and Culture department. This role is responsible for high quality, proactive ER support and advice to key stakeholders across TZV. 

Reporting to the Manager, Workplace Relations, the role will case manage a broad range of complex matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, mediation, conduct and performance, disciplinary processes, grievances and disputes, organisational change and inherent requirements. 

The role will work with people leaders, coaching and supporting them to effectively manage and resolve workplace issues and change. Using data insights and expertise, the role will identify trends and assist organisational leaders to proactively develop preventative strategies and practical action plans. 

 

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coach people leaders in the effective management and resolution of workplace matters, including complaints, grievances, and disputes
  • Case manage a broad range of complex workplace matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, mediation, performance and conduct issues, disciplinary processes, grievances and disputes, organisational change, and inherent requirements assessments.
  • Provide leadership coaching to frontline leaders on their people management obligations and accountabilities
  • Provide high-quality written and verbal industrial and employee relations advice to key internal and external stakeholders, including researching complex industrial matters such as case law and liaising with stakeholders and external legal providers
  • Assist with case preparation and presentation at courts/tribunals, including the fair work commission 
     

 

 

About You

 

You will  ideally  have worked within the public sector, it is also essential you hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Employment Law or related discipline and / or equivalent experienve.

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and contemporary HR knowledge, with the ability to provide advice on complex enterprise agreements, legislation, and organisational processes and policies
  • Experience leading complex matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, mediation, conduct and performance, disciplinary processes (including termination), grievances and disputes, organisational change and inherent requirements through to resolution.
  • Ability to perform with competing deadlines, respond quickly to urgent/important requests and achieve effective results within prescribed and at times short time frames. Strong and structured approached to case management, tracking, and reporting
  • Strong analytical capabilities with high-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to provide accurate detailed advice and coaching to leaders in a fast-paced complex industrial environment
  • Excellent computer literacy and ability to work within a range of HR systems
