About the Role

 

The Project Manager (Next Gen CAD) is a key and active participant within the Next Generation CAD program (NGC) and broader Digital Transformation team. The goal of the function is to manage one or multiple projects as directed by the Senior Manager, Cardinal Program. The Project Manager will work closely with the business experts and vendors, including the strategic delivery partner and system integrator.

 

The role will be responsible for project planning, project delivery in accordance with the agreed scope, budget, timeframe and quality and project closure. Activities will include project management under agile and waterfall methodologies and will require involvement in procurement activities, vendor engagement and management, and project management of nominated projects into production. To achieve these deliverables, the role will follow TZV’s Project Management Framework.

 

The Next Gen CAD (Call Taking and Dispatch) program is a critical government investment and includes the delivery of various technical capabilities. There are several technical components of the Next Gen CAD eco-system that need to be delivered concurrent with implementation of Next Gen CAD. There are ICT dependencies that directly impact TZV’s ability to achieve Next Gen CAD milestones and dependencies and need to be managed as a portfolio of ICT related projects, concurrent with Next Gen CAD delivery.

 

This particular Project Manager role has a focus on systems engineering and infrastructure within the Next Gen CAD Project, including networking, server architecture, data centres and storage systems. This project will also emcompass security best practice, firewalls, encryption, and data protection. 

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Development of key project artefacts in accordance with TZV’s Project Management Framework/templates. This includes Business Cases, detailed Project Management Plans, project controls (risk log, issue log, various registers and lessons learned), schedule, budget, monthly status reports, meeting agendas, minutes and milestone reports
  • Development of appropriate project governance structures (Project Control Board, Working Groups etc.) in accordance with TZV’s Project Management Framework
  • Management of requirements gathering, business impact assessment and current state mapping undertaken by Business Analysts
  • Leading the development of Change Management Plans, ensuring internal and external stakeholders are continually and fully briefed on project progress
  • Coordination of internal and external resources (e.g. vendors, consultants) and work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver all project activities to meet project objectives
  • Effectively communication with technical teams to ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and requirements, and that the new infrastructure is successfully integrated

 

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Project Management and/or Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2, PMBOK, or equivalent), as well as the following skills and experience -

 

  • Demonstrated a minimum of five years project management experience in medium to large technology projects
  • Demontsrated ability to negotiate, influence outcomes amd obtain support
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement, coordinate and deliver projects with multiple users over multiple sites 
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
