Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

 

The Project Accountant is integral in the financial and budget management and decision-making processes of a significant transformation program at Triple Zero Victoria. Working closely with the Project Management Office and other project stakeholders, the role is expected to provide accurate and timely financial information including analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the project, to support and inform decisions and improvements.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

 

  • Reporting and analysis for a range of audiences including project managers, Project Sponsors and SROs, and relevant project governance groups.
  • Initiate analysis and recommendations on business elements demonstrating opportunities for improvement, cost containment or similar. Undertake pricing and cost analysis to support procurement activities relevant to projects and alignment with project budget.
  • Work closely with the central finance team to establish project cost structures and processes to ensure project compliance with TZV policies and procedures, Australian Accounting Standards, Statutory and other legislative requirements.
  • Perform month end account review and processing and work closely with the Asset Accountant to ensure the accurate identification and accounting of fixed assets in accordance with TZV and government’s fixed asset policies and procedures. 

 

 

About You

 

The preferred candidate will hold a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis. Additionally, you will hold the following skills and attributes:
 

  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, modelling, and financial reporting with the ability to exemplify financial management best practice.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications/Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and/or CPA Australia essential.
