About the Role

 

Reporting to the Procurement Lead, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end sourcing activities as well as providing expert guidance and support for the Transformation Program, particularly the Next Generation Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) project. As the Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in optimising Triple Zero Victoria's procurement activities and ensuring seamless availability of goods and services.

 

This position is responsible for working on end-to-end sourcing activities, within a procurement stream, across the Transformation Program. It will require the skills necessary to identify saving opportunities to create value, competitive environments, creatively negotiate with suppliers, and generate contracts to ensure seamless availability of products and services needed to support the Transformation Programs objectives.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Supplier Management and Relationship Building

  • Procurement Process Management

  • Compliance and Risk Management

  • Cross-functional Collaboration

 

 

About You

 

This role requires highly developed commercial acumen with strong negotiation skills to deliver solutions to high value or high-risk sourcing activities, as well as the ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities that will lead to improved strategic sourcing, procurement and contract management within Triple Zero Victoria.

 

  • Extensive demonstrable experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles, with a focus on procurement strategy development, vendor management, and contract negotiations.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and relevant regulations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement practices and procedures and financial management systems with at least seven years’ experience in strategic sourcing with the ability to understand and apply the Victorian Government Purchasing Board guidelines.

  • High level knowledge and experience of procurement planning and market intelligence tools and ability to lead teams of procurement specialists to apply appropriate strategies and commercial solutions to complex procurement.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and market intelligence for informed decision- making
