About the Role

 

The Network Architect is a key subject matter expert and reports to the Systems Engineering Lead, Next Generation CAD.  
 
The Network Architect will use their expertise in design, architecture, and implementation to enhance and expand TZV’s on-premises network, as well as integrating cloud solutions such as Azure and AWS. We are seeking a candidate with a creative and innovative mindset, as well as a keen eye for detail, resiliency, availability, and sustainability in network architectural design practices. This role offers an excellent career opportunity for individuals with a background in network-focused architecture, engineering and experience in delivering collaborative solutions for mission critical environments.
 
The main purpose of the role is to deliver the network architecture and solution for the TZV transformation program with respect to networks and cloud solutions. The scope will focus predominantly on the Next Generation CAD Project.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage architectural projects from the initial schematic network design through to completion, ensuring project designs, delivery and quality standards are met.

  • Work closely with vendors, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project requirements, develop network design concepts, and present proposals for approval.

  • Oversee the creation of detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation related to the network, ensuring their accuracy aligned with organisational vision and strategy.

  • Identify compatible solutions and integrate innovative design approaches with existing networks in the most effective and resilient manner.

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.

  • Develop high-level and low-level network designs, oversee and review designs created by other architects or vendors.

 

 

About You


Candidates must have experience in designing, implementing a full data centre lifecycle aligned project, with experience with data centre design and deployment in Government sector being highly regarded.  In addition, the following experience is essential:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and incorporate these into network designs where appropriate.
  • Experience or in-depth knowledge of cloud networking technologies, including AWS/Azure specific services such as direct connect, Express route, Transit Gateway and VNET/VPC will be highly regarded.
  • A Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking or Infrastructure or related discipline.
  • Candidates must have experience in designing, implementing a full data centre lifecycle aligned projects.
  • Cisco Nexus Data Centre Architecture Experience in mission critical environments
  • Solid in routing protocol design, configuration, mainly BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
