Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

 

The Information Security Officer is responsible for supporting the design and delivery of protective and cyber security education, awareness and training, as well as supporting the development of information and cyber security policies and standards to ensure alignment to the relevant frameworks, standards, legislation and controls.

 

Reporting in to the Manager, Information Security, this role is a member of the broader Emergency Communications Information Services team who works collaboratively and in consultation with various internal and external stakeholders and portfolio owners across the organisation to ensure that information provided and utilised is current and relevant. 

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Create, deliver and maintain communications plans, content, activities and training materials that increase organisation awareness of information and cyber security risks, threats and prevention strategies.
  • Conduct regular reviews of cyber awareness and training materials in consultation with stakeholders to ensure information is current.
  • Support the protective data security program of work to ensure TZV’s security environment aligns with internal policies, the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework and other standards where applicable.
  • Evaluate protective data security and cyber compliance risks and issues and provide timely advice to support the preparation of statutory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to organisational change management activities to support security incident management and reporting, training and communications.
  • Build effective working relationships with industry, academia, national and international security specialist bodies, law enforcement agencies, and government in relation to protective data security and cyber resilience awareness. 

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in Information Communication Technology and/or Cyber Security within a critical and complex work environment. 

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Communication Technology, Cyber Security or related discipline, or experience in technology risk or cyber awareness and training related roles.
  • The ability to independently develop security and cyber awareness and education programs using a variety of delivery modes, technologies and communication channels.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, as well as a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of common information and cyber security policies, standards and guidelines.
  • A proven ability to conduct research and deliver relevant advice to managers on issues related to protective data security or cyber security awareness and training.
  • Significant experience in evaluation of education and training awareness programs within a cyber security or similar program, and an understanding of protective data security and compliance issues in an operational and corporate environment.
