About the Role

 

The Emergency Management Planning Coordinator is a key and active participant within the Emergency Communications Services (ECS) department, coordinating the delivering of enterprise-wide resilience and emergency planning and response services. This position will co-lead the emergency management services to meet desired customer experiences and outcomes and will influence and drive strategies to ensure TZV can maintain availability and continuity of service during surge events and incidents.

 

This role is required to participate in an on-call roster and may be required to work reasonable overtime.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Establish and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders providing influence and input into the management of state-wide and internal incidents
  • Guide other departments in formulating and executing exercises specific to their strategic goals
  • Accountable and responsible for the design and execution of operational exercises including analysis and formulation of recommendations
  • Responsible for maintaining the operational critical incident response plan
  • Track and drive recommendations from audits, post incident reviews & reports that impact Emergency Communications Services

 

 

About You

 

The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in a mission critical call taking and dispatching environment. They should work collaboratively, with strong communications skills  that enable them to convey information clearly and effectively and have the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience in relationship building, influencing, and negotiating skills in managing incidents and complex resilience and business continuity matters
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with highly developed interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of emergency services, communications centres, emergency management, telecommunications, employee relations and relevant Government Policy ideal
  • Maintains a rational and objective approach in a crisis
  • A Diploma/Tertiary qualification in emergency management or related discipline and/or substantial experience in managing operational business continuity and/or incident management
