About Triple Zero Victoria
Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state’s emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role
The goal of the function is to provide technical support to the Manager, Data Science and the Chief Data Scientist.
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Data Specialist to be responsible for managing and analysing data to support business operations and decision-making. You will work closely with various departments to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility. All technical analysis, information advice and reports should be undertaken with the goal of providing a service that supports the business in evidence-based decision making underpinned by excellent data to achieve 000VIC’s critical community functions.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Reporting: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data insights to stakeholders.
- Data Quality: Implement and monitor data quality processes to ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data processes, standards, and procedures.
- Responsible for investigating any identified faults and problem-solving solutions (many without standard solutions).
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of monitoring tools covering replications, data flow, data feeds and information systems to ensure processes are operating correctly, faults are promptly rectified and discrepancies and gaps in data are reported and corrected.
About You
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience in data management, analysis or related fields and proficiency with Power BI (and Power Suite) and have the following skills and attributes:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to use a consultative approach when engaging with stakeholders and designing a solution deploying the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts using strong analytical and logical thinking, applied problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex, disparate data set
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and to work under time pressure and be able to manage multiple projects and work streams simultaneously
- A tertiary qualification in in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
