About the Role

 

The Cyber Security Lead is a key subject matter expert and thought leader, reporting to the Director, Technology Delivery, Next Generation CAD.

 

The Cyber Security Lead will be responsible for ensuring the Next Gen CAD is design, built and tested to the appropriate cyber security guidelines.  This role is a key interface to the Cyber Security program that is being undertaken by the BAU teams.  The position is aimed at uplifting the organisation-wide cyber security posture aimed at improving how we protect our organisation. 

 

The main purpose of the role is to provide technical leadership relating to the cyber security requirements and guiding the implementation of cyber controls within the Next Generation CAD transformation program. The Cyber Security Lead will be a key input to a range of cyber security projects and be the interface between the delivery of the cyber program and the Next Gen CAD program, with an aim to increase the cyber security maturity and manage cyber risks across the organisation.


Day to day responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide deep insight into the technology options for achieving the cyber security initiatives within the confines of the technology environment and the available budget constraints

  • Contribute to the design, planning and establishment of TZV cyber security initiatives

  • Identify, document, measure, and implement cyber security controls that are appropriate to the Next Generation CAD solution

  • Contribute to the delivery of the strategy for the cyber security program including the technology uplift, controls and processes, skills development, business engagement and services to internal stakeholders

  • Actively manage cyber security partnerships across the business, ensuring strategic and compliant cyber alignment with statutory, legal, regulatory, and internal obligations

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks across TZV and emergency services sector, particularly in the data and analytics space

 

 

 

About You

 

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in cyber security to deliver solutions in a mission critical environment.

 

We are seeking a candidate with a delivery mindset and a keen eye for detail, along with the following attributes and experience: 

 

  • Previous experience in technical security roles such as Network Security, Security Engineering, or Systems Engineering

  • Experience in the implementation and transition management of large mission critical data and information improvement outcomes within a government organisation

  • Understanding of network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN’s, and web security

  • Experience in SIEM and SOC implementation and configuration

  • Deep understanding of IDAM technologies and PAM/PIM processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders

  • A Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent competency
